*Staff Pick Play dough
4 cups flour
4 cups water
2 cups salt
8 tsp. cream of tartar
8 Tbsp. oil
4 tsp food coloring/Kool-Aid/Watercolor
Combine dry ingredients
Combine water, oil, and food color and gradually stir in the dry mixture.
Cook over medium heat until ball forms
No-Cook flour dough
4 cups flour (different types of flours vary the texture)
2 cups salt
2 cups water
Combine flour and salt in a bowl and stir.
Add water and mix the ingredients.
Grab it all up and press it into a ball.
Put the ball on a clean surface and knead it until smooth.
Store in a plastic container. Be sure to dispose of used dough after a couple of weeks.
* You can add color to the dough by using non-toxic liquid watercolor,
kool-aid mix or food coloring. Food coloring can stain people, clothes
and surfaces !!!
*Add a scent to the dough by putting in a couple of drops of vanilla, cinnamon or other flavoring.
Coffee dough
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 cups used coffee grinds
1 cup cold, left over coffee
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix.
Grab it all up with your hands.
Place the dough on a surface sprinkled with flour and knead until smooth.
Store in a plastic container. Be sure to dispose of used dough after a couple of weeks.
* This is a unique dough that will make sculptures look like they were carved from stone after it dries.
Cornstarch Goop
2 cups cornstarch
1 cup water
food coloring
Place the cornstarch in a large bowl, large cookie sheet or plastic tub.
Add the water a little bit at a time. Use your hands to mix it up.
You know you have enough water when the cornstarch holds together.
Hold a blob in your hand and watch it ooze out between your fingertips.
Press on the blob and it will form a solid surface.
Store in a plastic bag when you are finished and want to use it again.
